My dog, Max, was recently diagnosed with diabetes. We are still trying to find the right dose of insulin and were making progress until yesterday. His sugar was back up to 471 yesterday when 2 weeks ago it was 275. We know cataracts are already forming but this morning before 4am he woke me up. I thought he had to go outside but when I got him, realized he wasn’t opening his left eye. When he does open it, it seems rolled back and is red. His third eyelid is also visible. The right one is better but also seems like it might be bothering him. I contacted the vet for walk in hours today but wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue and what it might be.
My (?) year old adult kitty who appeared in our yard a few months ago has just had entropion surgery. He seems to be doing well, but there is a lot of redness on the inside of his “new” eyelids. It’s only been 4 days, but just wondering if this redness is normal? I’m patting Terramycin cream on twice a day, but don’t want to pull on his stitches in order to get it inside the eye. Poor guy has been through who-knows-what before his guardian angel plopped him into our yard 🙂
Dog’s eyes red and has discharge
How do you tell if you’re bunny is an American White, a New Zealand or a Florida White rabbit?
My bunny is a white bunny with red eyes and they all seem to look exactly like her.
Is the red puffiness allergies? Both her eyes look like this, I can’t tell if she’s in pain, she’s acting completely normal. It just concerns me, because they look painful
My cat is an indoor/outdoor kitty and he came home with his eye very swollen. His right eye is swollen and his face his puffy. They are red, leaking fluid, cloudy and he has a white covering his eye. I believe it’s his third eyelid, I think. I’ve had to give him wet canned food because he is having trouble chewing his dry food. The vet is closed today and I am wondering what I could do for him at home in the meantime?
My kitten’s eye is oosing our green stuff, very red and she won’t open it. What should i do?
My cat has red, skin stuff in her eyes. Can anyone help? She won’t hold still so I can’t get a great picture. The red stuff you can kind of see has spread even further.
Hi! My dog has been having issues with the area surrounding her eyes for the past year. To give a bit of background, she is a 2.5yo mixed breed. I have been told by the family that gave her to us that some of the other rescues from there have been prone to skin issues. When this problem is latent the area surrounding her eyes is slightly darker and she has some hair loss. When it flares up, she becomes very itchy and her eyes become puffy and red. We have taken her to vets, they have never given a clear Dx and the issue always comes back. She doesn’t appear to have any other allergy-related symptoms and the itchiness seems cyclic. Apoquel appeared to help the longest but it eventually came back after that. Recently, we have moved overseas and the local vets are not as willing to accept my input. They put us on a costly treatment for Demodex which ended up being over 300 Euro and in less than a week, her eye problem came back. To be quite honest, I think the small progress that the Demodex Tx made was due to the fact I kept a cone on her during that time. I’m kind of concerned that my local vets are just attempting to drain my wallet rather than help my pup. Any insight on what could be causing this and how I can help her would be much appreciated. I have a 3 year old weim. On 12/18/17 I took her to the vet to have a bump on her right side (where the trunk and leg kind of meet). I wasn’t really sure what it was at first so I had been picking at it. When we got to the vet, they tried to aspirate it, but said there were too many red blood cells in the sample and to keep an eye on it. It is a single nodule that measures about 1/2 cm by 1/4 cm and moves freely with a round border. It’s color is like a grey hue and it looks like there are some hairs poking through throughout the nodule. It doesn’t seem to bother her at all or even when I touch it. It hasn’t grown, but it has not gone away. Should I take her back to the vet to try to get another aspirate or keep watching it?
