My miniature Schnauzer has a double ear infection .
My 12 1/2 year old miniature schnauzer has a bump on her face I discovered two days ago. The bump was originally pink and matted over by hair. She got a full hair cut about a month ago so the bump wasn’t there before that. We’ve been putting Neosporin on it and a liquid band aid but after cutting more hair from the wound which had scabs over it with the hair, it is red and still fully exposed with a black edge. Not sure what this could be. Is it life threatening or do I need to take her to the vet?
I accidentally gave my miniature schnauzer 1 25mg tablet of carprofen instead of 1/2. How dangerous is this for my dog?
My miniature schnauzer has been vomiting daily, and has light/pale pink colored gums. She has vomited semi-solid, but mostly a yellow or clear liquid (sometimes with some foam). Today, however, I believe she vomited her stomach’s fluids (green colored). After vomiting, she loses energy. She has lost weight and doesn’t eat her food in the period of time she used to. We thought it was gastritis, but when we changed her food to one that helps her digestion, it didn’t have any effect on her! What could she have?
Have a miniature schnauzer who is 3 and noticed a red growth on her back leg. Anyone know what it could be? Thanks
I have a 7 month old miniature schnauzer/yorkie mix puppy. I am absolutely in love with her! The problem is that I think I love her too much? I can’t stand up to her puppy dog eyes and I just want to coddle her forever! I let her take up all my time and attention and I treat her like she is my own daughter. Thinking of having to give her up makes me want to cry for days. However, she has snapped and drawn blood twice now. The first time she did was to my dad who was petting her while she was chewing on a bone. My dad wasn’t mad about it at all and said he should’ve just left her alone since she was growling. The second time, that just happened a few days ago, was because she had been really scratching at her tummy so I thought it might help if I put a small amount of benadryl cream on the itchy spot. She freaked out and bit me. I know she was just hurting and scared but she’s never snapped at me like that before. I trying popping her butt and saying no loud and firmly but I was more upset and ended up crying in the bathroom because all I could think about was that I’d have to give her away if she ever snapped at a child of mine. What’s terrible is when I came out of the bathroom, I apologized to her and was scared she’d be mad at me for popping her. Am I too emotionally unstable to take care of this puppy? How could I ever bring myself to get rid of her? Do I really have to get rid of her?????
I have a miniature golden doodle that was spayed a week and a half ago. She has a bulge near the surgical site. The external wound is healing well without signs of dehiscence. We took her to the vet and were told that this was a seroma. I am concerned that it might be a hernia. How can you tell the difference in a dog?
Our miniature dachshund came in from outside not limping… he is not licking at his foot… what could be wrong
PLEASE HELP! My dog lost the ability to use his back legs on Sunday. I took him to a vet immediately to get help and he thought that it was a compressed disc and put him on steroids and pain med hoping that it would get better. On Wednesday it had not gotten any better and the vet suggested surgery. I took him to a hospital for surgery but when they did an MRI, the did not see a compressed disc. They did say that there were some spots on the spinal cord that were bright on the MRI and they should be dark. They have tested him for many different things and given him a sonogram but everything has come back negative so far. He lost his bladder function so they think he may have a UTI but nothing else so far. Right now they are testing him for Cryptococcosis and other fungal issues. Kingston (miniature poodle mix) has still not moved his back legs and tail. I had to leave him at the ER today to go back home (3 hours away) but will be going back soon. Any ideas about this? Please help, I’m desperate! I want my baby to walk again. He is only 4 and still has so much life to live.
I’m going to be registering my Miniature Pinscher as an ESA (emotional support animal) He’s, I believe) around nine years old. He’s a bit jumpy around people, he barks a lot, and he gets a little hostile around dogs he doesn’t know. What’s the best way to train him? Or where’s a good training program (in Utah)? He’ll be helping me with anxiety and depression
I am going on the assumption that you are in the United States. If this is the case, please, PLEASE read ADA law. There is no registry for emotional support animals. Please also understand there is a HUGE difference between Service Dogs and Emotional Support Animals. The latter – what you’ve mentioned – does not have public access rights, or anything else beyond housing and transportation rights.
Hello,
Please see a veterinarian for assistance in helping treat it.
