The larger of my two dogs (Wikket), who is part Brussels Griffon/Wire Terrier has had a stomach issue for a few days now. I only noticed it about two or three nights ago when I took him out. He was eating quite a lot of grass but hardly any food. That night he got sick in his bed (vomit and the squirts) but all he ate was a little dog food. He hasn’t gotten sick since that night and his appetite is a little better; however, he is still eating grass. I would like to know why (I know it helps settle their
My dog has indigestion. She is an adopted 5 year old beagle/treeing walker coonhound mix. At the vet’s direction I have been giving her 5 mg of generic pepcid at night and I split her evening meal in two, feeding the second part after her last walk so as to avoid a completely empty stomach overnight. This morning I could hear her stomach rumbling and she had no interest in eating breakfast (fyi, she eats Purina Pro Plan Savor Weight Management dry food). I gave her 5 mg pepcid. When I took her outside all she was interested in was eating grass. I deterred her but, after she wanted to go out twice more, I let her eat as much as she wanted. I was hoping she would vomit but she didn’t. She had a normal bowel movement with no grass in it. Five hours after I gave her pepcid, she is just laying about with her stomach rumbling. Is there anything else I can do for her?
My 3 yr old dog eats a lot of stuff he shouldn’t. Not as bad about it now as he has been but I wanted to know if he can be exayed or sonogrammed to see if he had stuff building up in his stomach that could block him up later. I keep an eye on his poop when I think he has eaten a blanket, ball, or sticks and so far it looks like he’s getting it out, but he eats a huge amount of grass. Once in a while throws up a huge amount of grass. Not often. If X-ray or sonogram would help to prevent a future problem, what is the price? Thanks.
Hello, my Frenchton have this big lump on his right cheek under his ear. I just noticed couple days ago. Saturday morning, I took him for a walk off leash at shoreline park. I don’t know if he got stung or what happen but the next day in the afternoon I notice a big hard lump on the side of his face. a size of a lemon. Also to mention that a week prior he got sprayed by the skunk in the mouth where he was drooling and trying to throw up. He was rubbing his face on the ground so hard and was having a hard time breathing. I did wash his face and body to get rid of the smell and was better the next day. but Not sure if this has something to do with why he have this lump on his face. He act normal and does not feel any pain when I touch or press on the lump but I give him 25mlg benadryl from the day I noticed the lump and another 25mlg yesterday thinking it could be some kind of allergic reaction to something. This morning the lump seems a little smaller now and is not too hard anymore. but yesterday, he only eat little bit and today did not eat at all. His poop have some grass in it which i’m guessing his tummy is not feeling well? I have not given him another benadryl today. What should I do for him to eat. he is a little picky eater but since he have all this thing happening to him should I be worried?
Dog hit by car 2 nights ago. No blood in urine. He seems sore but he is no longer limping as of this morning. Hes eating and drinking. His gums are black n pink but his skin is also black n pink. He has been on antibiotics for about a month due to unrealted illness. This illness cost me alot of money. 2 weeks n hospital and emergency neuter. I cant afford to take him to the vet. I still owe money from his ilness. He seems to be ok. Sore. He had a rough night. His front leg was hurt. He seems alot better today. No limping, hes moving around just fine even rolling around in grass. He is still not real playful like normal but i think hes just sore. Is he ok? Can I just continue to monitor him? What should i look for as a sign to go to the vet regardless of the previous bill I still owe part of? He is 12 yrs old. He has been very healthy up until this recent illness. He is a pit bull and weighs about 60 lbs.

I have an 18 week old bully puppy who is suddenly yelping in pain. He looks ok from the outside but we cant figure out why he is in so much pain. I took him to the vet on Monday where they did a physical exam, dr said it might be a pinched nerve. Gave me anti-inflammatory meds and sent us on our way. He instructed him to be on strict rest. He was mellowed the rest of the day on Monday. We carried him outside and he slowly walked on the grass and did his business. Monday night/Tuesday morning again yelping in pain. I took him in again, and they took xrays. Vertebrate T4 T5 shows some abnormalities but the dr. could not give me a specific diagnose. She advised us to see a neurologist for an MRI and gave us pain meds. Tuesday rest of the day, he was pretty much out of it. I had to hand feed him and give him water, he was barely able to stand. Wednesday we have continued to give the meds every 12 hrs but he isn’t able to stand any longer and is peeing on himself, has not gone poop. Today pretty much the same thing, except he really doesn’t want to eat or drink. I have an appointment to see a neurologist tomorrow morning. my question is what can I do to help him poop since he isn’t getting up any more? Based on the symptoms and xrays any opinion on what it can be?
My cat has been coughing ever since she ate grass. Her spit is really think and she can’t seem to get the grass out. She is also not drinking water and can’t eat food. This has been going on for 3 hours
My dog is almost 2yrs old and he still eats absolutely anything & everything (towels, blankets, shirts) we’ve tried everything we can think of to get him stop but to no avail and then proceeds a day long of whining &crying from stomachache countless trips outside so he can eat grass to help flush his system either from the front or the rear. So any advice would be big help either to stop him from eating all our belongings or home remedies to ease upset stomach. Thank you
Crate the dog when you cannot supervise, keep your house cleaned up, and work on daily training and exercise.
To echo Dr. Magnifico – this will eventually lead to obstruction surgery. Multiple obstruction surgeries are risky, and eventually, the dog will die from obstruction. YOU need to be the adult human in the house and prevent this from happening.
*continuation* stomach) this happens and then they eat grass…and secondly, is there anything OTC that I could possibly give the pup to help his stomach (the vet I normally see moved) because she said that the other hard.
good morning😊First, I would start asking around about a new vet since yours has moved. Owning a pet, you’ll definitely need a vet. Secondly, I would keep a close eye on your dog and make sure he is drinking normally. The fact that he has started eating a little bit better is a pretty good sign. He may have just gotten into something that upset his stomach and had to work it’s way through. If your dog regresses, I would take him to the vet to be seen. Good luck!
