My (?) year old adult kitty who appeared in our yard a few months ago has just had entropion surgery. He seems to be doing well, but there is a lot of redness on the inside of his “new” eyelids. It’s only been 4 days, but just wondering if this redness is normal? I’m patting Terramycin cream on twice a day, but don’t want to pull on his stitches in order to get it inside the eye. Poor guy has been through who-knows-what before his guardian angel plopped him into our yard 🙂
My cat is blocked, took him to two vets both 3000. No one is trying to work with me, I don’t gave that kind of money, no credit; in Los Angeles,California. Do you know anywhere that can help? I have already spent about 400, just to be told that 3000 is it
I’m so upset and frustrated, it’s the 3 day.
My tenacious, wonderful, beloved 12-year-old cat is a cancer survivor. She has an uncommon form of cutaneous mast cell cancer that causes her to have thousands of small tumors all over her skin. 2 1/2 years ago she had a splenectomy and takes antihistamines daily to control what is now low-grade cancer. Last year she started having upper respiratory issues, including severe congestion and nasal discharge. To make a very long story short, after an exploratory, CT scan, rhinoscopy, multiple biopsies and cultures she’s finally been diagnosed with possible rhinitis which includes an E Coli infection, severe sinus inflammation, and a nasal polyp. When last visualized (about a month ago) the polyp is in her nasal passage, just above her throat. She’s on her 2nd, 2-week course of the antibiotic Meropenem, which I inject subQ 3x a day, which makes me a bit nervous considering the tumors – I’m concerned it could cause a histamine reaction and trigger the cancer further. We’ve been seeing a specialist in the Los Angeles area, and the bills have become astronomical. The polyp needs to be removed, we’ve been told it will cost $1500 – 3,000, depending on whether it can be pulled out, or if it’s too far up, I’ve been told the surgeon may have to go thru her soft or hard palate, (which, to put it mildly has me a little freaked out). We have to be careful dealing with her based on her cancer (which so far is under control and we treat as a chronic condition). The good news is that she handles anesthesia rather well. (She’s one heck of a tough cat). My questions are: is it normal to have to go thru the palate to remove a polyp? Are there any surgeons in the LA area that are versed in both the easier traction surgery, as well as the more complicated version, that won’t cost an arm and a leg (I’m willing to go further out)? How common, or dangerous, is going thru the soft or hard palate?
Thank you, from both of us!
IM COMPLETELY LOST. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THINGS KEEP HAPPENING TO MY LITTLE ANGEL.
My dog had surgery on his back in September 2017. He recovered so well and everything has been great.
Well Yesterday he ate a treat and since then he hasn’t been the same. He threw up after the treat and crouched over in pain, became stiff and seems off. So I took him to the emergency room and insisted on an MRI in the event there may have been something with his spine and all came back fine. The doctor said it may be autoimmune disease but didn’t specify and wants me to wait a few days to see how he does. Honestly I don’t like waiting in limbo when it comes to my dog. It breaks my heart to see him uncomfortable, in pain and me not doing anything about it. What can I really do to get to the bottom of knowing whether or not he has autoimmune disease and what type so I can get him treatment?
On August 9 I had to put my 20 year old Siamese cat down . She had cancer and some other mass on her kidney. The vet sad it would be best for my angel to go into cat heaven. I still have her 10 year old daughter that started to cry , hollowing and looking everywhere for her mama . She lost her appetite . I think took her to the vet and he sad the she also have elevated blood results on her kidney. Put her on meds . I wanted to get her a kitten to make her feel better but he sad I should wait to get her blood better ? I already found a Siamese kitten that needs a home but my main concern is my baby . Is it going to make her feel better or more stress ?
I have a 8yr old pitbull who has been suffering from diarrhea, gas and extreme weightloss for over 5 months now. She eats and drinks regularly with no other symptoms. Ive taken her to the vet and have had her stool tested, a urinalysis done and a full panel blood test and over $600 spent. Her results from our vet says she is healthy and nothing came up on any of her tests with money so tight that was really tough to hear that shes healthy when i know she isnt…. I’ve switched her food over to grain free and also tried probiotics and digestive enzymes but still no results and she continues to waste away. Im broken hearted and dont know what the best thing to do for her now. Shes depressed and sad and has been having accidents lately which isnt her. Any advice or anyone else with this problem? Shes an angel and such a good dog im open to any suggestions/advice.
My mouth year old kitten passed a away almost a week ago and i decided to bury my angel in my garden I even buried red roses so every morning I watered. A strange cat pooped on her grave and the soil seems moved even the red roses seemed pulled.
I have a redfox Labrador (female).name is angel. She is 3months old and weighs 9kgs.she really looks thin and she is hyperactive. Is she healthy?
My big dog Angel has always been a very fast eater. We even considered buying her a slow feeder bowl to slow her down because it was so crazy.. she was never satisfied even after 4 cups of kibble a day. She finishes all her food right away on spot. The past week she has been hesitant to eat.. very weird. Now she picks up a couple pieces of kibbles, checks her surroundings.. and power walks to her bed and eats it there. What is she hiding from? This is a very annoying habit that my poodle does and I don’t know if she is trying to copy him or is her tooth bothering her? My vet checked her out on Saturday and said she is very very healthy.. teeth, body, and overall appearance. Is this just a new habit that she caught or is she trying to tell me something? She seems completely fine in every other way. Both my dogs are about a year and a half old. I hope shes not imitating the trouble maker…
Angel was rescued from a train station 2 weeks ago but except for being a little dirty he had no visible issues. He ate well and we did not notice any abnormalities in his urine or faeces either. He was dewormed and his weight was 1.5kgs when rescued.
Last 4-5 days he has been severely ill. Our local vet has been giving him NS and antibiotic (OxyTetraCycline) and asked us to force feed him every few hours. Still we see no signs of improvement. His blood test is just back and we are losing all hope. His weight has dropped to 700 grams.
Blood transfusion is an option but our kitten doesn’t have any left in his body to draw even for blood typing.
