Lady was here yesterday for her TPLO surgery with the boarded surgeon. She came in presenting with hind end lameness. Radiographs were taken, sent off to the radiologist and then scheduled for surgery. The day of surgery, She had IV fluids running as well as IV antibiotics. The procedure last about 2 hours. Upon recovery, we use a Cold laser treatment to enhance healing times as well as helping to limit as much swelling. Recovery for a surgery this extensive takes about 16 weeks. We restrict to leash walking, cage rest and minimal playing.
