Dolly is a 6-month-old Australian Cattle Dog. We generally recommend spaying between 6 months and 1 year of age, as this allows time for the body to fully mature prior to surgery.
Upon arrival, our surgical technician conducted a thorough intake consultation, reviewing the procedure and outlining the expected recovery process with Dolly’s guardian.
An IV catheter was placed prior to surgery, and intravenous fluids were administered. Dolly received an intramuscular sedative prior to the procedure to ensure a smooth induction. The surgery was completed without complications, and she recovered safely and calmly in her kennel. Post-operative medications were provided to manage any discomfort and promote healing.
To help protect the surgical site, all patients are sent home with either an E-collar or a medical pet shirt, which should be used for approximately 14 days post-surgery.
The total cost of the spay procedure was approximately $700.
We are pleased to report that Dolly is now at home and recovering comfortably.
