My Dog Is Missing A Small Patch Of Hair Where His Tear Stains Are Located…

My dog is missing a small patch of hair where his tear stains are located, exposing very red skin. Not bleeding. He is not in any pain and when i touch it he doesn’t react at all. I suspect he got the wound around when he was eating (10 mins ago), as he was fine the whole day. How could this have happened? And how do I help it heal? Thanks x

He Does Not Seem To Have Any Open Wounds On His Body. My Husband…

He does not seem to have any open wounds on his body. My husband said that he is shaking, like a seizure, but he doesn’t have any history of seizures. He won’t lie still, and so far, my husband has just been holding him, until I get home in a couple of hours.

He has had some problems in the past couple of months, where he just didn’t seem to be able to go up steps as he used to, And several times, he has acted like he was in pain when we picked him up to put on the bed.

I think you need to get him into see a vet ASAP.  If you can’t get an appointment right away then I would go to an ER vet. You might want to look into something called IVDD in dogs and see if he matches the symptoms but you should get to a vet as it sounds like the dog is in pain and could be suffering. I would leave work now or have hubby handle it and call for an appointment right away. Get him seen right away. Good Luck.

He Is The Sweetest Most Loving And Genital Dog I Have Ever Had And I…

He is the sweetest most loving and genital dog I have ever had and I am happy I found him wondering down a street a few months ago be that as it may I am starting to really get worried abut him. At first I thought the wound was an abrasion but now I think it could be a wart or Cyst that busted. Does anyone have any idea what this could be or what to do besides go to the vet, which I am doing in a week,

I Don’t Know How To Word This But Here Goes: I Have My Own Cat…

I don’t know how to word this but here goes: I have my own cat, about 5 months ols, he is friendly adorable and easy to get along with. My question is in regards to his sister in which came out in the same litter. What happened was is the mother had a litter of kittens (about 4 of them) I took one, and my brother took one. As kittens they got along with each other great. Eventually they were split up living in separate households. My cat and my brothers cat. Now I would occasionally take my cat over to his house, and bear in mind they were still kittens, playing, chasing, and loving each other. As time went on they both developed into adolescent cats. My brother dropped his cat off at my at my house for babysitting because he extenuating circumstances to deal with. This is where it gets interesting. Remember they are exactly the same age, so both cats are approximately the same size and everything. My cat is still friendly and easy to get along with. It’s my brothers cat that for some odd reason does not get along with my cat whatsoever. (Btw my cat is a male and my brother’s cat is a female) She growls at him, hisses and even attempts to attack him. They got along so well as kittens, what happened here? Elaborate? Also why does she even hiss and growl at me. I picked her up last night to avoid confrontation with her sibling and she acted aggressive and sporadic towards me, causing a flesh wound to my hand. What’s her deal? Was she abused? Please explain.

She may be more fearful.  She may be more stressed.  Is she intact?  She could be going into heat.  She could be in pain.  Lots of things cause apparent aggression in cats, and this is something your brother needs to address first with her vet.

She very well could be sick and in pain,  this is a sign of don’t touch me I’m hurting. They will also hiss at other cats in this case too.  An abused cat will usually hide under table and bed and dresser. I’m not an abuse expert but I’d say it couldn’t hurt to see a vet. Probably just may take some time getting used to being at your house until it’s familiar with your home. My mom has 3 cats and one always hisses at the others to show dominance but not at my mom ever. If you need… Read more »

I would put him on crate rest for 24-48 hours to see if the lameness resolves on its own.  Crate rest means he’s in the crate at all times except to toilet, and when you take him out he NEEDS to be leashed.

If it does not resolve within that amount of time, he needs to be seen by a vet.

I Have A Long Haired Chihuahua Thats Just A Little Over One Year Old. Just…

I have a long haired chihuahua thats just a little over one year old. Just recently the top of her snout has swollen up to a considerable size. i gently pushed down on the bump and it felt pretty hard, also she does not seem to be in any pain even when i press down on it. I’ve read online and found some causes but haven’t seem to find the definitive cause for my dog. It doesn’t seem to be a dental problem as i cannot find a broken or discovered tooth, i doubt its an infection as i cannot find any wound and it started about 20 min ago while she was home and not outside. i guess it could be an allergic reaction to some sort of food but i haven’t fed her anything out of the norm. What can i do to bring down the swelling, should i apply ice, give her Benadryl?

My Dogs Leg Is Wounded. I’m Not Really Sure What Happened Because He Is Free…

My dogs leg is wounded. I’m not really sure what happened because he is free to go where he wants to but maybe he got in a fight with a dog or somehow wounded his leg. The wound got inflamated and leaks pus. I would take him to a vet but due to some personal things I’m currently without a job and don’t have the money to take him to a vet. I’ve been cleaning his wound but it doesn’t seem to get better. If pictures are necessary I cand send them through email. I’ll be more that grateful if any help is provided.

I’m not qualified to answer, but I have had success putting Neosporin on my pet’s open wounds. On a personal note and not to sound preachy or anything, but I think it’s a really bad idea you let your dog wander out alone. Also, while he has the open wound, he definitely should not wander around outside because it could expose him to greater infection.

I would strongly recommend taking him to a vet, particularly if it gets progressively worse. In the meantime, the only safe and potentially helpful thing to do I can think of is Epsom salt soaks. Make a strong solution – warming up the water allows for more salt to be dissolved but let it cool before using – and the soak for at least 10 minutes at least couple times of day.

My Cat Has A Small Wound On The Underside Of His Chin/neck. It Seems To…

My cat has a small wound on the underside of his chin/neck. It seems to have been bleeding due to the fur around the area having dry blood on, no sign of puss. Not only this but his cheek is swollen, like he has an abscess?

This is not something you can fix at home.  Get to a vet ASAP.

You need a vet. This shouldn’t cost much more than the office visit and maybe antibiotics.  Get to the vet before he scratches it and it’s infected. Keep it indoors. Even after it heals. Indoors.

I didn’t read too far into it, but it sounds like it’s toxic if ingested.  I would thoroughly wash the wound again and put a cone on your cat to prevent it from licking the wound.
