We have an abandoned cat that has adopted us for the past year. Comes for a feed and a warm place to rest and goes about his business. He was missing for a few days and just returned. He hopped up on my sons bed and has not moved for the last 2 days. No food, only the slightest drop of water. He seems very lethargic, has conjunctivitis in right eye and seems to have problems swallowing. Not sure if he has been out to relieve himself or not but there are no signs of soiling on bed. Any advice/help appreciated. Regards Phil

to be quite honest – we don’t know.  this is a question for your vet.

if you want to keep him safe and healthy, keep him inside.

There is a red spot inside his ear. Any idea what this could be? The kitten had an ear infection and conjunctivitis. Got the 2 year old cat sick (URI I believe the vet said). I got ringworm from the kitten (he scratched me up pretty good, not maliciously). Any idea what this could be? Thank you so much!

I got a new kitten from a rescue about 3 weeks ago. I was told he was healthy; however, we came to find out he had conjunctivitis and a bad ear infection. He got my 1.5 year old cat sick as well. My 1.5 year old cat has feline hyperesthesia and asthma. Around his mouth is white (he is a tabby) and on the left side (right in the picture) above his mouth, it is discolored. Could this be something serious?

Eyes are typically something you’d want to see the vet about ASAP, especially if, as you’ve said, the dog seems painful. I would definitely make an appointment with your vet, and in the meantime, do you have a first aid kit with a sterile saline eye wash (usually just a little squeezy pottle you twist the top off)? If not, I’d advise getting some from a pharmacy if that is convenient. If your dog tolerates it, try to very gently give the eyes a little wash with the sterile saline, this could flush out any small material which may be… Read more »
