I have a 7 mo old boxer puppy, Lola. She broke her back right leg last Friday running into a tree. She has a splint on, Monday was her first splint change. She’s not licking at it, but couldn’t settle in tonight. When checking it all over her two toes are red inbetween and look a little swollen. I ran my finger between the two toes and applied vetericyn. Is there anything else I should do until I can get in tomorrow to my Vet. ? She seems comfortable now?
I have an unneutered 7 month old aussie-poo mix who wont quit peeing and spraying every where. The last week he has hiked his leg on people’s faces, legs, my tv, and all over my walls. We take him outside every hour, but nothing works. He just does it even worse outside. I have run out of ideas for what to do that might actually work. Any advice?
I have a 5-year old neutered male indoor cat who recently got constipated and had to have several enamas at the vets office. He eats crunchy grain free food, and since his episode I have started giving him canned food. What can I feed him that will help with the constipation?
Are there any other medicines other than metronidazole that can get rid of giardiasis? Is there anything to get rid of giardiasis in your yard?
My 1.5 year old Yorkie Poo is finding rabbit poop in our yard and eating. So far my 11 month old Maltese has not started this habit. Is it dangerous? And how do I get the Yorkie Poo to STOP? Thanks for your help. Dawn
I have a 6 month old puggle who just came to live with me. She is not house broken. She goes to the bathroom everywhere. On the floor, the furniture and bedding. She even goes in her crate. She will not go on puppy pads or newspaper. I will put her in her kennel outside for a couple hours at a time and she will not go in the kennel but as soon as you bring her in, she will go on the floor or sofa. She is not learning from my other dog who is older. I don’t know what to do. HELP!!!
We have a 1 year (and 2 month) old mixed breed dog (rhotweiler and rat terrier mix). We crate trained him when we first got him and he did great. We slowly allowed him to spend more and more time out of his crate until he was good all day out of his crate while we were at work (6 – 3). He got to the point where he didn’t want to go in his crate at all anymore. So, for the last 7 months he has been allowed free range of the house and has done a great job. No accidents and no chewed up things. In the past 3 weeks he has chewed numerous rugs, shoes, pillows and anything else he can. we try to pick everything up but the rugs and pillows stay out. We began filling treats with peanut butter and freezing them and we give him one before we leave. We go on two long walks a day and he gets plenty of cuddle and play time. I didn’t really want to crate train him after he has had all of this free space as I felt he would see it as punishment. But I am unsure of what else to do.
Hello – Sometimes my two chihuahuas will fight with one another and I am unsure how to handle. For example, I was walking into my house carrying groceries and I heard, before I even walked in the door, the growling and barking. I walked in and my smaller chihuahua had the larger one pinned down. Their was no blood or fur flying, it sounded way worse than what it was. I immediately broke them up, but I was wondering what the best approach in this type of situation would be. I didn’t scold them, but should I have? Do they hate each other? Do they secretly fight when I am not home? So many questions, but my main concern is just making sure I am handling their fighting correctly. Thank you for your help!
My 3 yr old Maine Coon threw up yesterday morning (looked like her entire breakfast) and last night I saw her drinking out of the dog’s water bowl twice in several hours. Since I switched her to only wet food 2 years ago I have never seen her drink any water. She is playing and eating and nothing else seems off so far. It is possible I am being overly concerned but she has had health issues in the past.
I will continue to observe, but I am wondering if she now has diabetes.
