My senior dog has progressively experienced bowel incontinence of soft, formed stool. She seems to be unaware as a small amount will just fall out as she is walking. She will be 15 this year, is very house trained, and continues to go outside majority of the time. Over the past month it seems to happen more frequently and I’m not sure how to manage it. We also have small children and I’m dreading the day my 18 month old finds it before me.

Newly paralyzed cat/ bowel movements – we have a newly paralyzed cat and she hasn’t had a bowel movement since Tues 3/17 pm. Hasn’t ate much since then, but also taking gaba & prednisolone. Eating wet food since accident. F/U with vet today to get more advice on manipulating. She’s spicy and difficult to handle at times so I’m worried how to make this work. Hoping to consider stool softener or laxative of some sort to help her with this process. Any recommendations ? I came across your video for the kitty that has had years of constipation and wanted to send a message. Thank you in advance!

I rushed my 1 year 1 month male cat to the vet last March 16 and he was on catheter until the 21st. Reason for the catheterization is a urinary blockage due to stones. He is currently urinating well everytime he goes to his litter box but my only concern is, he only pooped last March 17. Until today he wasn’t still pooping. We had xray and ultrasound done. Everything is normal as per the vet, he has a gassy stomach. Considering this, he hasn’t pooped now for nearly 5 days, including this 2 days catheter removal. He is also dehydrated despite drinking a lot of water. He is looking at me whenever I eat, he is meowing, he swallows the food (wet/dry royal canin urinary SO) as advised by vet. But he sniffs a little amount of food such as fish and chicken and then taste small portion and will not eat afterwards. He is not vocalizing pain as well and straining on the box, he is also not vomiting. He can jump up our sink to drink water and also walks and is purring. Can you recommend me anything I can give him for him to eat voluntarily and be able to poop?

Our dog Roo was recently diagnosed with a dermal melanoma and during her oncology consult at it was also discovered that she has AGASACA. We are exploring cost saving options and were wondering what others have paid at certain surgical centers for abdominal ultrasounds and thoracic radiographs and potential removal surgery.

My almost 8 year old Golden/Lab mix has the worst breath I have ever smelt. We have looked in his mouth and do not see evidence of any tooth infections or abscessed teeth. Our Current vet told us that “some dogs stink.” It is to the point that we cannot invite people over our home with the fear that he will touch them and make them smell. It is nauseating. We were told they could put him under and evaluate further for $3k + but that is not in the budget. Are there any other solutions? Can you help @Jarrettsvillevet? @jarretsvillevet@gmail.com

My 12 year old border collie mix has had this sore for awhile now on her hind leg. After some research, I believe it’s a sebaceous gland tumor. Can someone confirm? What should I put on it? I try to be as organic as possible. She keeps licking at it. Should I take her to the vet?

Hi Dr. Magnifico,
I have an 18 yr old male cat (Eddie) that has been having trouble breathing because of an obstruction in his nasal cavity. Eddie’s primary Vet Dr. Klutz at Abby Animal hospital preformed an x-ray and determined he would probaly need a CAT scan and rhinoscopy for a better diagnosis. I was referred to AVIMO in Hunt Valley and went for a consultation. That visit cost over $800 with some blood work. I was given an estimate for the CAT scan procedure of $4426.00 to $5258.00. This is a lot for me to pay out at one time since I have 5 other cats that are in their senior years with some health issues of their own. If your practice or if you know of another facility that can provide a cheaper price I would appreciate your input.

I had my dog in the room with me and then I noticed her doing reverse sneezing and it also sounded as though she had a hairball as it sounded like some coughing noise. I took her outside and then an hour later her face is swollen. We didn’t see her eat anything on the camera while I was working. The swelling has gone down a lot but still there. She vomited 4 to 5 times today (white and yellow vomit) and very little amounts. She ate a little bit of rice today and drank water. She seems uncomfortable as she keeps moving her sleeping position and keeps kicking while resting. We suspect it could be possible she ate mouse poop as we saw a mouse run through the yard. The image is of her swelling yesterday and it went down significantly with benadryl. She still has swelling but not verh noticeable. She did have dental surgery on January 30th but it shouldn’t cause an issue now. Please advise what we should do as the vet wasn’t very helpful and said to go to the hospital.

Hello, my family recently rescued two adorable barn kittens from a local Harford County Farm. Their mom unfortunately, was not attentive and abandoned the litter, so we have taken the kittens in and have been bottlefeeding. They’re thriving and seem happy and healthy. I know that Baltimore County has free or low cost spay and vaccine options for rescued pets through the Humane Society. Does Harford County currently have any programs like this? Thank you!

Hello,
Your pup needs to see a vet. There are many medical conditions that might be the cause. Your dog needs an examination asap.
