My cat is 18 years old, very small-wt approx 4.5lbs, long Haired female with unresolved Matts reaching down to the skin. She looks uncomfortable and I’m concerned about her skin integrity. I’ve attempted to use clippers like in the YouTube video but the Matt is so hard that it doesnt seem to be cutting. It feels as though I’m just pulling on her skin. Also I am worried that I could accidentally cut her skin since she is older and it is saggy. Please recommend proper clippers and technique so that I don’t cut her and can help resolve her awful Matts. Thank you so much! Also I can provide a picture of helpful!

Hi Kat, I see your question posted several times. It looks like it was answered on a separate thread. I thought I would answer this one to be sure you see the reply. I would visit with a groomer. While I understand and sympathize that you are concerned about sedation. Some groomers who are experienced with cats may be able to get the job done without sedation depending on your cat’s personality.
