Do I need to be worried if my dogs poop is like a mucus bag and runny poop???

i’d wonder about Giardia. vet needs to be involved.

Hi Mary, you don’t say how long this has been going on for. It sounds like something is irritating his colon. Any blood in the stool?Any vomiting? Could he have eaten something he shouldn’t? Dogs are terrible scavengers. Have you changed his diet? How is he in himself? Is he eating and drinking as normal?  I would take him to a Vet he may have some infection and put him on a bland diet such as boiled chicken and brown rice, blended vegetables (stick to carrots/broccoli/curly kale) a scrambled egg, white steamed fish.  Make sure you keep his fluids up… Read more »

If its been going on for that long she does need to see a Vet there could be something more serious behind it

I would also take her off her normal food and give her the bland diet. She needs something gentle on her stomach while this is resolved. If you can imagine her stomach is red and inflamed, and producing a mucus lining to protect it. 

It could be anything from parvo to salmonella to something else.

Yes I agree Laura, shes developed colitis for some reason.
