He has plenty of food and water, from a private owner we have had him since he was a kitten so I know it is not trauma related. We have thought in the past it was a kitten thing.

Hello Adam,

I know my cat did the same for awhile. They are nocturnal and have their own schedules! I think the only way to keep them on your schedule is to secure them in a space they can be with toys and food and water and keep away from you at night. I used to use a large kennel at night like I would my dog. When I wake, I would let them out and let them have fun! It does not hurt them and you get to sleep!

Mhhh, some cats are more active during night. Maybe he is bored?

He probably needs a friend to keep him company at night! My kitten is driving me nuts because her sister is sick and in the vet’s care, and they usually play together at night, and leave me out of it.
