There’s a cat outside that I feed who was hit by a car a couple of months ago. I noticed about a month ago that her tail was just limp and she had feces matted on the back of her legs and tail. Half of her tail fell off a couple of weeks ago and I also noticed that she doesn’t seem able to control her bowel movements anymore. I find feces all over the porch and it just seems to fall right out of her. Is there anything that can be done for this cat? The humane society in my county doesn’t have the ability to help and I couldn’t afford to take her to a vet.

I have called the humane society in my county and they said they do not have the funds and cannot help and there are no other shelters in my county. The shelters in other counties will not help either because I do not live in their county. I believe the cat belongs to a neighbor and they tossed her out a long time ago and won’t even feed her anymore.
Good morning. I am sorry to hear about your cat. If you cannot afford to take care of her, I would urge you to give her up to the humane society or other shelter so that they can help her. Hopefully it is not already too late, but usually the longer one waits without needed medical attention, the worse the prognosis. Again, I strongly urge you to give up… Read more »
I’m sorry. The only other advice I can offer would be to talk to your vet and humane society again. Explain the situation. See if you can work out some sort of affordable payment plan where you can pay in installments (weekly or monthly) in order to get this cat the hel she desperately needs.
