If I feed him his food more then twice a day he gets the runs. We where reported by my fiances ex to animal control because are dog was “skinny”. Our vet gave him a clean bill of health and said he was a normal weight for being a boxer/pit mix. But Animal control is still hassling us saying “hes too skinny and the vet has no idea what shes talking about”. I just want my boy to gain a bit so this woman leaves us alone.

if your dog’s spine is not clearly visible, and if his ribs are covered in muscle and a thin fat layer, i wouldn’t worry.  i would have your vet write out something to AC and tell them to stay off your property. 🙂

Sorry you are having all these problems especially if you are doing all you can. This sounds to be diet related to me. If he hss the runs after food and is not a good weight hes on the wrong food. For him to keep having the runs like this the food is going straight through him…and hes not getting any nutrients from it to enable him to gain weight.He could have a very sensitive tummy also. I would try him on a natural holistic type diet, with no additives or preservatives. You will have to change him over slowly… Read more »
