My hamster has a strange redness on his tail that looks like a deflating blister, what is it?

It could be a tumor, an infection, a cyst, a foreign body or from some sort of trauma. If it bothers your pet, more appear is other places or gets worse/bigger you may want to see a vet otherwise it may clear up on its own. We hope your pet is better soon! Keep us posted.

Hi Lauren,

Ok, sometimes Syrian hamsters testicles can get irritated, so be sure that it is the tail and not on the testicles. They are pretty large for a small animal,,but that could be the issue. Or “wet tail” is also common with these guys. A vet can give you meds for wet tail and also check his testicles for any issues.
