I’ve been bitten this badly 1 other time in my years on the job. That bite was on my hand though, and I have a fairly large scar. My facial hair does cover some of the bites on my face, but one is very prominent, and I’m hoping to avoid a gross scar. Any advice on that from folks who’ve had experience?

You need to talk to a dermatologist!  Often to prevent scaring you need to keep a scab from forming by using petroleum jelly.  But I don’t know if this is the proper treatment for a puncture wound — thus you need the advise of a doctor that understands all this as well as what will help prevent a scar.  It is worth the cost of an office visit to ensure you heal properly!

Good luck!

the only thing that helps me heal from scarring like that would be an increase of Vitamin E and C.  i’d also recommend rubbing the area with neosporin once it’s scabbed over.

good luck, and i hope you feel better soon.

i will also admit to taking 2k+ mg Vitamin C. you can’t really OD on the stuff, though megadoses (like 4k+ in my case) can cause GI upset.
