I have some positive experience using homeopathy on pets so a friend brought over a hedgehog that had gotten a hair caught around two back legs causing gangrene. One foot had already come off and the leg looks clean. The other foot is still there but swollen up to the knee with brown gangrenous skin. I am using homeopathic remedies which have cured gangrene and saved people from amputation before but I’m afraid of the gangrene spreading and wondering if it would be best to take the hedgehog in and have the leg amputated.

I appreciate your wish to be helpful but you can only be helpful if you have expertise. Especially if you are going to adopt an authoritative tone. Based on your all caps and exclamation mark and the fact that it was 4:30pm here with offices about to close, I took the hedgehog to the vet and got the same response the hedgehog owner got; i.e. there is nothing they can do.
