no, he isn’t doing this on purpose.  he’s a BABY.  this is like taking a diaper off a human toddler and expecting them not to urinate and defecate everywhere.  it’s unreasonable and you need to reevaluate your training.

for what it’s worth, i don’t like pee pads because they don’t train a distinction between urinating and defecating in one specific spot and doing so everywhere in the house.  can you train him to do his business outside, instead?  are you able to take him outside frequently?

no, Shirin, he doesn’t.

say you have a 2 year old child. does that child know where to toilet? do you expect that 2 year old child to use the toilet reliably every single time? you don’t, because you know they aren’t quite there yet. stop expecting this of a baby puppy. your expectations are unreasonable and if you’re still yelling at this puppy to “punish” him, you’re making the problem worse on yourself.

You are surely not under the impression that this puppy is doing this to annoy you??!! It seems to me that you have given him so many mixed signals he is in a state of utter confusion! This is YOUR fault not his! This housetraining on pads, again I agree with Laura, does not work.  You have already stated… Read more »

You keep saying he knows he should go on the pads. This is the problem….he doesn’t. Puppies of this age don’t have much bladder control or bowel control and you have to be one step ahead and catch them before they go. As Laura said you wouldn’t expect a baby to use the potty at this age. No dog is an ‘apartment dog’ whatever breed they are, they all need to go outside for exercise and fresh air every day. Everything you read on the internet is not all true. When hes had his innoculations you will need to take… Read more »
