Hello, Hypercalcemia can be indicative of a few things. Here is how I typically approach this finding. I do a very thorough examination to include a rectal exam. I also loo at a urinalysis and thyroid. If everything that I am seeing is normal except for the calcium I recheck it in 2 weeks. If it remains elevated I discuss a referral to an internal medicine specialist or run additional bloodwork panels. It is also important to discuss diet and lifestyle. Hypercalcimia can sometimes be an indication of cancer. The xrays, however look too uniform to be bone cancer. If you are wondering if that is the source, my guess would be no. Depending on your pets symptoms and other bloodwork an ultrasound might be your next steps.
Thanks for your help. We did a standard blood test and all that came back not normal was calcium. Do you have any specific blood tests in mind?
