I’m thinking of going to another state for a week and have had my new kitten for about two weeks.
My roommate would watch when not at work (so about 8 hours my kitten would be alone on some days), and she would be able to see my dog and the rest of the house through the gate so she knows she is not alone in the house while my roommate is at work.
Overall my kitten, Carrot, loves her new home and family and she is very happy and playful and seems to do well when she is alone for a few hours. Could I leave for a week without her being upset, or forgetting me, or should I reconsider?

As long as your roommate is providing her with food, water, a clean litter box, and some playtime every day (positive social interaction with people is very important at that age) she’ll be fine.

Make sure you discuss a plan with your roommate in case something happens and your kitten needs veterinary care while you’re away. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
