A super friendly stray cat at my apartment complex had kittens September 1st, 2015. The mother is a short hair grey and the father is a short hair tuxedo. She had five kittens total. All of the kittens have a long tail except for one. One of the kittens was born with a deformed tail. It is almsot like a bobtail, really thick and balled up, but at the end of the bobtail there is a really thin corkscrew tip. I’ve never seen a kitten with this happen so I am not sure on any information about it. The kitten in particular is a very heathly baby. She seems absolutely normal except for the tail. I took all the kittens to the vet with their mother, but all that vet said was that it was a “birth defect”. I am wondering if this is going to cause any harm to the kitten? Will the kitten need any special treatment, such as surgery? Please help!
In the photo, you can see the kitten’s tail compaired to the other ones. The kitten is the one on the right.
