Living in an area with few fleas and ticks, I have had great success by adding nutritional yeast to my dogs’ food.  When we go camping, a few fleas jump on board, but don’t stay.  If we lived in an area with flea and tick problem, I would follow my Vet’s advice.

supposedly there are holistic options you can use, but i stick with what works from my area per my vet’s recommendation.

i DO have a friend who uses a collar of some sort due to a bad reaction to topicals…it’s NOT Hartz.  i’ve asked him for brand info.

i have to ask: what do you think of the Frontline generics i’m seeing on shelves? i know the patent expired, and i find them interesting.

ah, here we go: http://www.petparents.com/products.aspx/index/seresto?WHGRedir=1

it’s made by the same folks who make Advantix and Advantage. ask your vet, of course, but i would absolutely consider this.

heck, if my dog didn’t need to be naked from time to time for shows and trials, i’d invest in it.
