Hi, my parakeet has been tasting my fingers lately and after she does she makes clicking sounds with her tongue and beak. Is this normal behaviour?

I asked a friend with bird experience, and this was her response:“yeah, reasonably normal.  though if the person’s fingers are dirty then that could be cause for concern. birds explore things with their beaks (“i could eat this” is sort of the bird equivalent of a cat head-boop butt-rub, or a dog sniff-kiss). birds don’t breathe the same way that people do – it’s all through the nose – so if the bird is ‘yawning’ a lot that is cause for concern. but beak grinding and similar sort of beak-related noises are usually a sign of contentment and relaxation.
