For the past 6 months, he has been skipping with his rear leg.. Our doctor told us that it could be the so-called hip dysplasia.. But since one week he cannot stand on his front leg as well. He has been licking it all the time and I see he’s in pain. He can’t do long walks.. So our doctor told us that he has arthritis.
For the past 1 year I also noticed that he has been biting his front legs a lot. For example, when he’s cleaning himself, licking his legs and private parts, he also bites his legs, really hard, sometimes I can even hear them crack! Could that be because he’s in pain?
Also, a few times he’s had problems with his anal thyroid.. and when it’s not squeezed, he also has problems walking. Then, when the doctor squeezes it, it gets better..
So, my question is.. do we need to perform some kind of tests, like x-ray, blood tests.. because our doctor told us that we don’t need to do that and that it is basically clear it’s arthritis.. And could it be something else besides arthritis?
And if it’s arthritis.. what is the best treatment you would recommend?
Thank you so much in advance!!
