Hello. Today my 8/9 month guinea pig, Truffles, died very suddenly. I back from work to find him sprawled and unmoving. I have no idea how this happened, although both my piggies had some grass a couple days ago (but my older one seems fine). I’m beside my self with grief. I want to know what happened to my sweet baby.

R.I.P. Truffles ❤️

But all in all the health of a Guinea pig can surprise you the ones you expect to live could die suddenly and the ones you expect to die suddenly could live for years

Hi There,
I’m sorry to hear about Truffles passing away. There is no way of knowing what happened without an autopsy. It could have been the grass–is it in an area that gets sprayed for bugs or lawn chemicals? Or it could have been genetic like a heart issue or other problem that you can’t see from the outside.
I’m sorry for your loss,
