My friends Great Dane had thyroid cancer, surgery and chemo and treatment is over(35k at NCSU vet school). He has megaesophagus and can’t keep food down and has gone from 160 to 106. Is there anything possible to put weight on him(poor guy)!

Have they tried baby food? Not sure if he’s on a special diet but it helped with my daughters lab. Dogs seem to love it.

Need nutrition dense food so it doesn’t have to be a lot. Among other things, how about discussing with your vet adding some green super foods, such as spirulina?

The lack of normal cell death is apoptosis and is the hallmark
of cancer.  Foods that support healthy
cell turn over are plant based and typically not found in a dog’s diet.  For this reason supplements targeting
apoptosis may help a dog’s metabolism that’s being negatively effected by
cancer.  There is only one product I’m
aware of called Apocaps CX .  I believe
the product was developed by Dr. Demian Dressler the author of a book that may
also be helpful “The Dog Cancer Survival Guide”.
