My dog has been blind for 2 years because of cataracts. Yesterday I heard him whimpering so I went to check on him and his right eye was draining and I could tell it was punctured. he was in a little pain but under control. Today he is acting more like himself and his eye has quit draining and seems to be taking shape again, More like an eyeball was looking like a raisin before. Everyone tells me to put him down but not until I am satisfied that I did everything I could to help my old buddy.

That sounds serious enough for a trip to the Emergency Vet. I hope your dog gets better soon!

I would also go to the emergency vet, but in my opinion there is no need to put him down.
Since he is already blind it won’t affect him to loose the eye. Maybe the eyeball nbeeds to be removed. I only have seen cats with that surgery by myself, but read about dogs, too. They were fine afterwards,
So I don’t see a reason to put him down.
