When I give my dog a treat she whines with it in her mouth so I walk up to her and ask her what and she leads upstairs to my room and she gets on my bed and whines even more than runs around my bed and tries to place it in different spots then she drops it on my blanket and pushes it down with her nose and then lies down next to you eat I tell her it’s okay you can eat it but she doesn’t eat it. I know she likes these treats because she eats them downstairs when my other dogs are getting treats with her

Does she eat her food normally? No stomach upsets, vomiting, diarrhea, issues with appetite?

Jasmine used to do this with her old torn up tennis ball. Not sure why a dog would do it with a treat if their stomach isn’t upset but sounds like the same kind of deal. Trying to bury it but there is no place to really do that in the house.

weirdo question: is she spayed?  if not, could she be going into heat right now?  my dobe does this right before she goes into heat, and only with particularly high value treats or toys.

sounds like she’s just protecting a high value treat, then. dogs are weird. 🙂

H there,,

I work at a kennel, there are some dogs that come here that do the same thing when you give them a treat…whine with it in the mouth , carry it around and bury it or put it in the blankets. I think that its just them really likeing the treat and wanting to keep it and eat it when they are alone. Sounds like that ‘s what happening with your dog,,and she prob eats with your other dogs because she doesn’t want them to get hold of hers.
