Current dog – close to a year. Already shown dominance. Won’t leave new dog alone at all. Constantly being too rough.
New dog – 2 and a half years or so, shelter dog. Already shown to be submissive.

Hi I have recently got a new dog and it’s totally opposite… They don’t really have much to do with each other at all but slowly warming up to each other after walks ect. Are they only play fighting? Your dog just may be really excited to have someone to play with it might wear off soon.

Hi sorry you are having problems. With 2 dogs of the same sex, males or females you will usually have one who wants to be ‘top dog’….its all about pack hierarchy. It sounds like you have a dominant male already who has a new male on his territory. I would have a word with the Shelter you got your new rescue from, this might settle down it might not…and your new dog may always be picked on. I’ve always had a dog and a bitch for this reason, they get along far better.
