We are a very low income family and cannot afford veterinary care and don’t have any transportation to bring him somewhere. I wish we could save him but I have a feeling that he will have to be euthanized. He wont/cant eat or drink and it looks like his jaw is dislocated. His tongue is a brownish red color as well.

If we have to euthanize him at home, how would we go about doing so in the least painful method or are there any better options we might be able to use to save him?

do not euthanise at home – you do not have the supplies to do so humanely.  take him to the vet.  PLEASE.

HI Andrea,If you don’t have transportation to get to a vet, call a local vet and ask for local rescue’s in your area, then call them and ask if they can transport to a vet…ask the vet if they can asses the cat and euthanize if that is the vet’s opinion. You can also call your local animal shelter or animal control and ask them about options for you. Call your local churches and ask if they could help you out in any way,,maybe you could volunteer for them in exchange for a ride to a vet and basic vet exam?… Read more »

PLEASE do as Laura advises and have him euthanised by a Vet…..and QUICKLY!! you cannot leave him suffering like he is!!

Please borrow the money if you don’t have it, telephone vets and aee if they will let you pay it off in small amounts. This is the commitment we make to our animals when we give them a home, that they will be cared for to the best of our ability and not allowed to suffer.

I would NEVER even think to euthanised my pet at home omg. My heart breaks for these animals. My cats are my life and I am on a VERY low income but I take care of my babies they even eat before I do thats just how it is, I brought them into home so its my responsibility to take care of them.
