My (?) year old adult kitty who appeared in our yard a few months ago has just had entropion surgery. He seems to be doing well, but there is a lot of redness on the inside of his “new” eyelids. It’s only been 4 days, but just wondering if this redness is normal? I’m patting Terramycin cream on twice a day, but don’t want to pull on his stitches in order to get it inside the eye. Poor guy has been through who-knows-what before his guardian angel plopped him into our yard 🙂

Thanks 🙂 He actually managed to escape the cone during the night; I woke up to my husband telling me he was free. Yikes!!! Miraculously, his stitches are intact, although I can tell he did some clean-up. Eyes look about the same, but no worse, thankfully. He is looking up and around more than he did when the eyelashes were poking him. The surgery seems so awful, but the payoff will be hopefully wonderful for him.
Hello,
Some redness and swelling is normal post op. But I usually recommend any clients of mine call me and recheck within a few days of surgery just to make sure everything is healing normally.
