My 8 week year old Chihuahua has a lump above his left shoulder and were not sure what to do about it. We haven’t seen it until today and would have noticed it before as its quite a big lump compared to the size of him. Its not effecting him in any way such as being painful and he is still eating and running about and play fighting with his brother. He did jump off the sofa yesterday afternoon but kept running after he landed and this was just before we noticed it. We took him to the vet last night and they took some fluid out and the vet feels is just a fatty lump but its definitely under the skin. Has anyone had a puppy with a fatty lump before? or possible a bite? It is slightly red and you can fit your hand pretty much around it.

If it’s inflammed and acting angry, do have it checked. If it’s “dormant” but been there for more then a month, have it checked and aspirated. The only way to conclusively identify a lump is by looking at the cells it contains.
