I have a 7 month old pug. She was sneezing a little yesterday after being outside in the rainy weather. This morning she is acting sick. She won’t eat or drink and she feels hot (I don’t have a thermometer). What can I do to help her?

Anytime a young dog won’t eat or drink it is very important to get a professional exam. I strongly recommend finding an integrative veterinarian with whom to work. This is a person trained in many different approaches, including using conventional drugs only when absolutely needed. Working with one can increase the chance that your cherished companion can live a long and healthy life after recovering from this current problem. So glad she responded well to the aspirin.  since it is the beginning of the week, I would be comfortable with you cancelling your appointment and watching her to see how she does. Often flower essences, like readily available Rescue Remedy, can be as effective as aspirin with no possible side effects.  Buy the people one, not the pet one. Put one drop in a separate water bowl.  Put 4 drops in an ounce of water in a jar and give a few drops in every meal and as often as needed in between meals. You cannot use it too… Read more »
