I have a 2 year old Whippet who 12 months ago broke both bones in both front legs. After plating and recovery, last night she has again broken both bones in the left leg.

Can repeat breaks be repaired?

In addition to seeing another surgeon (take old Xrays and records with you), it is time to investigate holistic approaches to building health to strengthen bones and buckle down with a LOT of positive training (clicker is great). For this dog, I would train her to only run when you are in a big, safe area – and with permission from you. I would teach her lots of safe tricks to keep her occupied.  While I have not treated dogs with repeating fractures, one of my peers has a daughter with Osteogenesis Imperfecta.
