Have A Black Lab, 8 Years Old Who’s Developed Bald Patched On Both Side Of…
Have a black lab, 8 years old who’s developed bald patched on both side of his body. He seems fine in himself, ears and drinks normally and is regularly give flea and worm doses. Has anyone got any ideas what’s happening with him? Thanks !

If anything he’s a bit more lazy than he used to be, so yes maybe it could be a thyroid problem. Thanks again

i really don’t know…go to the vet, get a skin scrape done. and get his thyroid checked, too.
my gut says thyroid, but it’s a huge problem in my breed (Doberman Pinschers), and patchy hair loss is usually the first sign of hypothyroidism. in a quick google search, i’m seeing it’s common in Labs, as well…so i’d definitely bring it up. has his overall temperament changed lately?
ah, yup, that’s another hallmark sign. time for a blood draw.
